The Phoenix Suns were one of two expansion franchises to join
the NBA in 1968. They were the first professional sports team in
the entire state of Arizona, and remained the only one for the
better part of 20 years.
They went to the NBA Finals in 1976 and 1993, losing both.
During the 2000s the Suns revolutionized the NBA, behind their
two-time MVP, Steve Nash. This era became known as the
“seven seconds or less” era.
The Phoenix Suns did a lot this offseason, hiring a head coach and re-tooling their roster into a team that might actually win some games.
