NBA London 2019 is here and will take place on January 17th 2019. The annual match-up will witness the New York Knicks take on the Washington Wizards at the O2 arena in London. The match-up will feature one of the NBA’s most storied franchises in the Knicks.
With two title banners hanging in the rafters of home court Madison Square Garden, New York has a list of great names attached to it’s all-time list, including Patrick Ewing, Walt Frazier, Willis Reed and Carmelo Anthony. The team has had a turbulent two decades, but the tide is turning as it’s Latvian centerpiece, Kristaps Porzingis, is becoming one of the league’s finest big men, and new head coach David Fizdale is more than ready to whip the young squad into shape and make the playoffs.
Meanwhile, Washington has had a team in the league since 1961 but hasn’t won 50 games since 1978. That could all change this year if point guard John Wall and shooting guard Bradley Beal are healthy together for a full season.
Both teams will have a lot to play for, and the fixture will give the NBA’s UK fans an opportunity to witness young talent, as well as current all-stars; as they battle it out during a key time of the regular season.
Just like last year, Double Clutch will be in London for the game and promises to bring you the best coverage this side of the Atlantic. And you can read a more in-depth look at each of the teams when we release our annual Season Guide.
